Flat Rock - Elizabeth House Inpatient unit

Summary

Planning and implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care, provide direct nursing care, and instruct/supervise the LPN and Hospice Aide staff in the delivery of nursing care to clients.

  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Practices within the scope of license, certification or registration, where applicable, and as required by law and regulation
  • Assessing the patient's physical and mental health including the patient's reaction to illnesses and treatment regimens
  • Recording and reporting the results of the nursing assessment
  • Planning, initiating, delivering, and evaluating appropriate nursing acts
  • Teaching, assigning, delegating to or supervising other personnel in implementing the treatment regimen
  • Collaborating with other health care providers in determining the appropriate patient and family-centered plan of care and ensures the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care is coordinated
  • Implementing the treatment and pharmaceutical regimen prescribed by any person authorized by State law to prescribe the regimen
  • Providing teaching and counseling about the patient's health
  • Reporting and recording the plan for care, nursing care given, and the patient's response to that care
  • Supervising, teaching, and evaluating those who perform or are preparing to perform nursing functions and administering nursing programs and nursing services

Providing for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care, whether rendered directly or indirectly.

  • Must be willing and able to care for patients with infectious disease processes unless approved accommodations
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and Medicare Conditions of Participation
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records systems

Experience

• Two years of clinical experience

Licensures & Certifications

• Valid NC RN license

  • Summary of Physical Requirements
  • Walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, twisting, crouching/squatting, kneeling
  • Flexion/Extension of arms/wrist
  • Hand dexterity to include gripping, pushing/pulling and writing
  • Lifting/carrying of 50 lbs. Often
  • Near & far visual acuity
  • Ability to hear, understand, & distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Prolonged standing & walking

Requirements

Candidates must possess a valid NC RN license and at least two years of clinical experience. Proficiency in pain management, HIPAA regulations, and electronic medical records is required.
