FirstLight Home Care is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and patient caregiver to provide in-home support for an adult female client living with quadriplegia due to a spinal cord injury at the C6-C7 level.
Our client is very independent, enjoys cooking for her family, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and staying engaged in her daily routines. We are looking for a caregiver who can provide hands-on assistance while encouraging and supporting her independence.
Quadriplegia due to spinal cord injury (C6-C7) Bowel and bladder incontinence requiring catheter management Contractures of both hands Caregiver Responsibilities
Gather and prepare bathing supplies Assist with dressing and undressing from the waist down Provide shower assistance each shift Observe for safety during slide board transfers and assist as needed Assist with drying and redressing after bathing Change urine collection bags after showers Assist with flushing catheter tubing and changing catheter bags as needed Assist with light laundry Meal Preparation & Household Support
Prepare meals and snacks Assist with chopping, dicing, and opening food packages and containers Wash dishes each shift Encourage hydration throughout the day Assist with watering outdoor plants Take garbage to the road on Tuesday evenings Accompany client on errands when needed
