The Surgical Technician assists with age-specific surgical procedures while maintaining strict principles of surgical asepsis and sterile field integrity. They anticipate the surgical team's needs to ensure efficient operative flow and provide high-level patient care.
Operating Room - Full-Time, Day Shift
The Surgical Technician (ST) provides high level of care by assisting with age-specific surgical procedures, practices principles of surgical asepsis, identifies breaks in the sterile field and ensures that appropriate action is taken. Anticipates needs of the surgical team and promotes efficient flow of the operative procedure, serves as a resource for specialty area and functions effectively in multiple areas. Follows policies, protocols, techniques, and guidelines, utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.
Completion of a surgical technician course required. No experience required.
Surgical Technician certification preferred. Certification may be provided by either AST (Association of Surgical Technologists) or NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing). Basic Life Support certification required.
