About this role

As a Certified Nurse Midwife with Birth Center of Denver, you will work with a team of CNMs and RNs committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience in Colorado's first and only hospital-owned, freestanding birth center.

You'll provide prenatal, delivery, postpartum and newborn care up to 14 days.

All obstetrics, there is no gynecology expectations in this role.

You'll work a flexible schedule which will include a mix of clinic and call days.

At a .8 FTE, you'll be fully benefits eligible while still maintaining an ideal work-life balance.

What You Can Expect Working with Birth Center of Denver

Birth Center of Denver is a midwife-led birth center providing evidence-based, compassionate and supportive care to women and families in the Denver and surrounding areas. We offer prenatal care, customized education classes, labor support, water birth, postpartum and newborn care up to 14 days.

CenteringPregnancy™ is our standard model of prenatal care. This group-based approach to prenatal care combines belly checks with time for discussion and shared learning about pregnancy, birth and babies and is focused on building a community with other pregnant parents!

We offer a home-like space outside of a hospital that focuses on a highly supportive and unmedicated childbirth experience. We offer a luxurious environment with little intervention to support a more natural approach to birth. We have beautifully decorated and spacious suites with spa-like amenities including an oversized tub for water births, a queen-sized bed, and a separate area for loved ones to gather within the same suite.

Birth Center of Denver is a part of Intermountain Health and operates independently as a 5-bed licensed freestanding birth center. Should any “what ifs” arise, we have the full benefit of having Saint Joseph Hospital nearby, allowing for seamless transitions to the hospital if needed. Our Certified Nurse-Midwives hold privileges at both Birth Center of Denver and Saint Joseph Hospital.

In this role, you'll be eligible for a $8,000.00 starting bonus and if needed, relocation assistance.

What you’ll bring

Colorado state license as a Certified Nurse Midwife, or eligible to obtain prior to start date

Board certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)

Eligible for State Controlled Substance License.

Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.

BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.

Prior clinical experience in both hospital and birth center settings is preferred.

Requirements

Must hold a Colorado state license as a Certified Nurse Midwife and board certification from the AMCB. Requires BLS certification and eligibility for State Controlled Substance and Federal DEA certificates.
