Overview The Surgical Technician I will function as a member of the patient care team, under the direction and supervision of the physician and/or registered nurse.

This position provides technical skills in the role of the surgical scrub before, during and after operative procedures, by anticipating needs, preparing, organizing and troubleshooting equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for various surgical procedures.

Assists the physician(s) and nursing staff to provide optimal patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, utilizing resources efficiently, communicating effectively, and is proficient in scrubbing Level 3 procedures and below.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates competency as a Surgical Technologist Demonstrates the knowledge of risk and safety issues and uses measures to ensure optimal outcomes. Demonstrates actions that exhibit accountability and professional judgement.

Qualifications

The pay range for this job begins at $24.18/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience. Remote Work/Work from Home This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home. Requirements

Candidates should have an Associate's degree or high school diploma with 1-2 years of Surgical Technologist experience and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. A Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred.
