Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Computerized Tomography Technologist will perform all required diagnostic computerized axial tomography (CAT) scanning procedures with knowledge of all pertinent technical and academic areas to produce consistent, high-quality examinations.
Performs all required diagnostic CT exams in a timely manner.
Positions patients for exams, ensuring comfortable and accurate positioning.
Assembles the X-ray film, CT scans, and other necessary diagnostic information in its proper order for the physician’s interpretation.
Monitors the condition of patients in the department and assists the radiologist or other physicians in performing needed medical attention.
Performs clerical work related to the obtaining of previous reports, X-ray films, etc.
Maintains scanning equipment and ensure room is properly cleaned.
Assures that all exams include accurate clinical and demographic information and high quality, complete images.
Reports any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to the responsible supervisor.
Work as part of a team to assist radiologists, fellow technologists and office staff as needed
