About the role

The role involves constant monitoring of ECG and SPO2 measurements for patients and notifying nursing staff of any changes. Additionally, the coordinator performs clerical duties, manages equipment inventory, and assists with clinical station organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Telemetry Tech/Clerical Coordinator (CC/TT) I is responsible for monitoring electrocardiogram and SPO2 measurements constantly for designated patients and informing the RN of changes.

Maintains and checks monitoring equipment daily.

Works as a part of the patient care team to maintain organization within the clinical station, answer telephones and patient call lights promptly, assist patients, hospital visitors, and members of the healthcare team.

Performs some clerical functions including organizing the clinical station, tracking equipment inventory, as well as monitoring electronic orders.

Notifies Charge nurse of new admits and maintains census record.

Participates in Swap Shifts to ensure skill competency.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A high school diploma and completion of a basic arrhythmia course with a passed ECG test are required. Experience as a Telemetry Tech/Clerical Coordinator and a course in medical terminology are preferred.
