Job Summary-Must have Ophthalmology experience to apply We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Ophthalmic Scribe to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will assist ophthalmologists by accurately documenting patient encounters, transcribing medical records, and ensuring that all relevant information is captured efficiently during examinations. This role is crucial for maintaining high-quality patient care and supporting the overall workflow of the medical office.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately transcribe physician-patient interactions, ensuring all relevant medical documentation is recorded in real-time.
  • Utilize medical terminology to document patient histories, examination findings, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for use.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate effective communication and enhance patient care.
  • Stay informed about ophthalmic procedures, anatomy, and physiology to provide accurate documentation.
  • Support the office with administrative tasks as needed, contributing to a smooth operational flow.
  • Experience
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, particularly related to ophthalmology.
  • Previous experience in a medical office environment is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is highly desirable to understand the context of patient care effectively.
  • Experience with PAPER CHARTS and NexTech
  • Experience with medical documentation processes and transcribing skills will be advantageous.
  • Phlebotomy experience a plus; formal training or certification preferred but not required.
