Physician Assistant – Spine Surgery: About the Opportunity

The Center for the Functional Restoration of the Spine (CFRS) is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our growing team of dedicated spine specialists.

For more than two decades, CFRS has specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and complex spinal conditions through both conservative and advanced surgical approaches.

Our practice is led by Dr.

Paragioudakis and Dr.

Menkowitz, nationally recognized orthopedic spine surgeons committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated Physician Assistant seeking a balanced role between the outpatient clinic and operating room while working alongside highly experienced orthopedic spine surgeons in a collaborative, high-volume specialty practice.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, medical histories, and follow-up visits in an outpatient spine practice
  • Assist physicians with treatment planning, patient education, and clinical documentation
  • Provide perioperative care and serve as Surgical First Assist during spine procedures
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies as appropriate
  • Coordinate care with physicians, clinical staff, surgery schedulers, therapists, and ancillary providers
  • Participate in hospital rounds and postoperative patient management as needed
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical record documentation
  • QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • Current Physician Assistant license in the State of New Jersey
  • NCCPA Certification
  • Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Orthopedic, neurosurgical, spine surgery, or first assist experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in an outpatient orthopedic or spine practice preferred
  • New graduates with strong orthopedic or surgical clinical rotations and a demonstrated interest in spine surgery are encouraged to apply

  • Ability to travel between practice locations, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and other affiliated clinical sites as needed to support patient care and surgical coverage.

Compensation for this position will depend on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.

Requirements
