Licensed Veterinary Technician (Seasonal) - ER & Specialty

$30.00–$40.00/hr + Shift & Weekend Differentials

Seasonal opportunity in Vancouver, WA

Schedule

Shifts are determined by hospital needs and may vary or change to support patient care and operational demands. Participation in on-call rotations and work weekends/holidays as scheduled.

We are currently seeking a Seasonal Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team. This temporary position is designed to support our Emergency and Specialty departments during periods of increased patient care demand, team member leave coverage, and staffing needs. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys a fast-paced environment, diverse caseload, and the opportunity to make an immediate impact on patient care.

At Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, you'll work with advanced veterinary technology, including MRI, CT, and more, in a modern space complete with an employee garden. This role requires a high level of adaptability and the ability to quickly integrate into different teams, workflows, and case types, with department assignments varying from shift to shift, in a supportive work environment focused on wellness and mental health.

In your day-to-day, you will

  • Provide nursing care, monitoring, and treatments for hospitalized patients
  • Assist in triage and patient stabilization, including IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and CPR
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing, obtain radiographs, and assist with advanced diagnostics (endoscopy, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI)
  • Assist in surgery, including anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery
  • Handle and administer medications and controlled substances in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support patient admissions, history collection, and discharges
  • Provide coverage across departments based on hospital needs
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture
  • What You Bring
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Current Washington Licensed Veterinary Technician license (or ability to transfer)
  • Minimum of 2 years veterinary experience; ER and/or Specialty preferred
  • Ability to work safely in an MRI environment with appropriate training
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and prioritization skills, with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment
