Job Description

Job summary

Responsible for supporting implementation of the perioperative nursing plan of care.

Assists nursing staff by performing delegated tasks to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Coordinates with team members to maintain efficient surgical workflows.

Ensures readiness of surgical environments through timely preparation and assistance.

Contributes to quality patient outcomes by following established protocols.

Essential functions

Performs safe patient transfer and transport procedures.

Maintains cleanliness of the perioperative area.

Adheres to principles of aseptic technique.

Performs assigned nursing tasks to support perioperative care.

Maintains and communicates accurate patient appointments, updating as needed.

Admits and registers patients according to established procedures.

Uses organizational resources and equipment to facilitate communication with ancillary departments and the community.

Unpacks, organizes, and stocks surgical supplies according to par levels.

Communicates daily with leadership regarding supply needs and related issues.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent experience

Experience requirement: 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
