About the role

The Veterinary Technician is responsible for obtaining patient histories, performing diagnostic tests, and administering medications. They also support veterinarians in delivering high-quality care and educate clients on treatment and preventive plans.

Pay: starting at $20/hr (based on experience)

For more than 40 years, Sycamore Veterinary Hospital has provided compassionate care to pets and their families throughout the Newtown community. As our hospital continues to grow, we're looking for technicians who enjoy working in a collaborative environment where learning and patient advocacy are a priority.

Our three-doctor practice utilizes modern equipment and follows Fear Free principles to help create the best experience possible for patients, clients, and team members.

  • Obtain patient histories and vital signs
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform diagnostic testing

  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Educate clients on treatment plans and preventive care
  • Support veterinarians in delivering exceptional patient care

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a veterinary setting
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to support teammates
  • Interest in continuing education and skill development

Surgical experience is welcome but not required. We are happy to train motivated candidates who are eager to learn.
