  • Description: The admissions coordinator is the client’s first point of contact with the agency and is responsible for making a positive impact and assisting in changing lives of those with substance use disorders. The admissions coordinator performs a variety of clerical duties, while maintaining a positive attitude and a team oriented mentality.

  • Responsibilities: Update client roster, report openings to the county, and receive client referrals Schedule new client admissions received through the Gateway referral service Conduct client admissions process including reviewing legal consents and county assessments Provide clients with clothing and toiletries, explain house rules and benefits/fee agreements Enter client data into electronic health record and Unicare databases Send treatment status reports to criminal justice department Submit weekly and monthly reports to the county and state Update placement chart/spreadsheet for accounting purposes Attend semi-monthly billing and adult system of care provider meetings at the county Maintain urinalysis logs, order testing supplies, create monthly testing calendar, and send notifications to probation officers Perform additional duties as assigned by the administrative supervisor
  • Qualifications: Minimum two years’ experience in an administrative role and high school diploma or GED; some college and/or administrative certification preferred Experience working with diverse populations; substance use and/or mental health work experience preferred Must exhibit cultural competence and sensitivity toward mental health clients Must exhibit professionalism, punctuality, flexibility, and reliability at-all-times Must be comfortable with, and entertain frequent interruptions, with patience and decorum, in a fast paced, intensive, client centered environment Excellent organization and time management skills Experience with email and Microsoft Word and Excel Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification and complete annual required trainings Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in the language spoken by clients Must pass comprehensive background check, reference check, and possess a valid driver license, current auto liability insurance and a clean driving record Physical Requirements Climbing; ascending or descending stairs, ramps, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Kneeling; bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Crouching; bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Reaching; extending hand (s) and arms above head in any direction. Hearing; perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. Lifting; able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures and viewing a computer terminal.
