The Radiology Nurse is responsible for patient assessment, monitoring, and assisting physicians during interventional radiology procedures. They also coordinate pre-procedure testing, provide patient education, and ensure proper discharge and follow-up care.

Performs patient assessment and monitoring for procedures and post-care. Assists in conducting post-procedure patient education.
Organizes and coordinates scheduling, evaluation and pre-procedure testing.
Communicates with referring healthcare providers.
Assists physician during procedures.
Assists in arranging post-procedure follow-up with patients.
Identifies early signs of deterioration and responds to emergency situations. Demonstrates proficiency in performing life saving measures according to adult resuscitation protocols.
Ensures proper discharge instructions and medication reconciliation including follow-up referral.
Initiate and implement applicable core measures and protocols.
Adheres to infection prevention protocols including CLABSI and CAUTI.
Adheres HIPPA rules and regulations and current patient safety standards.
Assists with bedside interventional procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN Preferred.
NJ RN license. Two (2) years of critical care experience in a setting such as ICU, ED, PACU required only if no previous experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) within the past five (5) years.
IV Certification required.
Must be able to scrub and circulate in IR procedure area.
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and demonstrated writing skills
