Job Description

Who We Are

The Cardiovascular Testing department at Elliot Health offers comprehensive cardiovascular testing services, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardio-oncology, and non-invasive testing. Our multidisciplinary team uses advanced technology for personalized treatment and accurate diagnoses.

This integrated approach ensures that patients receive the highest level of expertise, no matter how simple or complex the condition.

About the Job

The Cardiac Technician, under the direct supervision of the Manager of Cardiovascular Services and the general direction of the Medical Director of Cardiovascular services, performs the technical aspects of non-invasive testing and outpatient cardiac monitoring for Elliot Health System.

What You’ll Do

Performs EKG for the neonate, infant, pediatric, and adult population.

Processes EKG’s in GE MUSE system accurately with attention to patient demographics, patient location & physician reader.

Prepares patient and assists in duties specific to scope of practice for noninvasive stress testing. May also transport patient for non-invasive cardiac testing.

Prepares patient and assists in duties specific to scope of practice for Holter Monitor Testing, including processing Holter Monitor data.

Provides the patient with accurate instructions for ambulatory monitoring devices.

Supports Cardiovascular Services, including RE & EHS Cardiac Testing within scope of practice as needed.

Assists in application & processing of temporary/ambulatory monitoring devices in the outpatient cardiology office.

Attends to basic comfort needs of patient in cardiac testing environment.

Reports all observations, symptoms, deviations in patient’s vital signs, mental status or other physical or psycho-social condition to the RN/MD.

Reports EKG critical values & critical findings during testing to the On-call Cardiologist.

Contributes to cost-effective processes of the department and the organization.

Demonstrates knowledge regarding management of unit specific materials and safety mechanisms; contributes to the care of equipment.

Who You Are

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

LNA or Associate Degree in a Health Science preferred.

Previous experience with patient care preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Requirements

Requires a minimum of two years of Cardiac Cath Lab or interventional radiology experience and a degree in cardiovascular technology or radiology. Must hold professional certifications (RCIS, RTR, or ARRT), NH state licensure, and BCLS/ACLS certifications.
