The OB Nurse’s Assistant is a Medical Assistant responsible for supporting the OB Nurse and the operational functions of the OB Office. This role involves assisting with day-to-day tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the office and the delivery of exceptional care to the OB patients. The Assistant to the OB Nurse contributes to maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment for both patients and staff.

Job Description: Assistant to the OB Nurse

Key Responsibilities Provides support to the OB Nurse in managing the operational needs of the OB Office.

Assist with patient education by preparing materials and answering general questions under the guidance of the OB Nurse.

Act as a point of support for patients, addressing basic inquiries and directing them to the OB Nurse of physician for further assistance.

Schedule inductions and C-sections Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the OB Nurse and physicians.

Qualifications

/ Valued Skills Prior experience in obstetrics and gynecology is required. Medical Assistant (MA) certification is preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with the OB Nurse, physicians, and other staff members. Familiarity with EHR systems, particularly EPIC, is an advantage. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Professional demeanor and a focus on providing exceptional patient care. Work Environment Clinical office setting with regular interaction with patients and healthcare staff. A moderate-paced environment that requires efficiency and organization. Collaboration with the OB Nurse and other team members to meet patient needs.

Requirements

Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the office for extended periods. Ability to perform administrative and clinical tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
