• Shift: OtherJob Summary The Dispensing Pharmacist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications to our residents. This position requires a licensed pharmacist with strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care. This position is Full-Time - 4 days a week with varying 10-hour shifts. Position will also be part of a Saturday rotation.

• Consultation: Provide clinical expertise to the healthcare team, offering guidance on appropriate medication selection, dosage adjustments, and therapeutic alternatives.
• Medication
• Management: Oversee the medication administration process, ensuring residents receive their medications in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborate with nursing staff to address any concerns or questions related to medications.
• Regulatory
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations governing the practice of pharmacy in a skilled nursing facility. Stay updated on changes in pharmacy laws and regulations that may impact the facility.
• Quality
• Assurance: Conduct regular audits of medication records and processes to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy. Implement corrective actions and improvements as needed.
• Pharmacy
• Operations: Manage inventory levels, order medications and supplies, and conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with storage and handling requirements.
• Collaborative
• Care: Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens, address therapeutic concerns, and participate in interdisciplinary care planning.

• Reporting: Promptly report any adverse drug reactions or medication errors and take appropriate action to prevent reoccurrence. QualificationsPreferred Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) and possess a valid Tennessee pharmacist license. Prior experience working as a pharmacist with a good understanding of pharmacy operations and dispensing procedures. Long-Term Care experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis. Maintain a professional demeanor, exhibit ethical behavior, and demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and well-being. Working Conditions Works in office area(s) and pharmacy Moves intermittently during working hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Is involved with customers, and customer representatives, family members, residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances. Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors. Communicate with the designated facility staff, nursing personnel, residents, or family members. Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.). Is involved in community/civic health matters/projects as appropriate. Attends and participates in continuing educational programs. Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, and other air contaminants. May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals. Education Must possess and maintain any and all necessary active and unencumbered certifications, degrees, or licenses in the necessary state, to the extent the position requires such certifications, degrees, or licenses. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with customers, personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
