Provides hands-on care (bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, skin care, ROM exercises) and supports therapy/nursing tasks per physician orders and plan of care. Assists with ambulation, exercises, and self-administered medications. Ensures safe, high-quality care under RN supervision; uses equipment and supplies effectively. Observes, documents, and reports patient changes; communicates with the care team to coordinate care. Maintains infection control and safety standards; participates in case conferences, in-services, and quality improvement initiatives. Builds positive relationships with patients, families, and team members while maintaining professional boundaries. Meets documentation, productivity, and performance standards.
Education: High School Diploma/GED required.
Completion of a 120-hour Nursing Assistant course.
Must be at least 18 years of age in accordance with regulatory requirements required. Completion of a Nursing Assistant Training Program of a minimum of 75 hours with no continuous period of 24-months without compensation for Home Care Aide/CNA work after completion required.
Valid State of Iowa Certified Nursing Assistant - Iowa Department Of Inspections & Appeals (IADIA)
Requires a High School Diploma/GED, a valid driver's license, and completion of a Nursing Assistant Training Program of at least 75 hours. BLS certification and mandatory reporter training for child and adult abuse are required.
