About the role

Perform venipuncture for blood collection and prepare various specimen types for laboratory testing and screening. Manage administrative duties including customer service, data entry, and the secure packaging of samples for referral labs.

We are seeking a friendly and energetic Phlebotomist/Processor with excellent people skills to enhance our team. Ideal candidates will have a collaborative spirit and a commitment to supporting both our patients and our team’s goals.

Pay

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on experience

Schedule

Full-time, Monday - Friday, 11AM – 7:30PM

In this role, you will be responsible for

Administrative duties: Providing excellent customer service, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms.

Technical responsibilities: Performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening.

Accurate data management: Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information.

Specimen handling: Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.

Compliance: Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance.

Flexibility: Covering work shifts at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Reliability: Maintaining consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to ensure continuity of operations and support for our team and patients.

Education & certification

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

• Prior hands-on experience in phlebotomy and/or pre-analytical specimen processing required

Licensure/Certification

  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision test required
  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred

Driving Requirements

  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Clean driving record

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn laboratory information systems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet turnaround time expectations
  • Dependability, adaptability, and willingness to support evolving laboratory needs
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality, and confidentiality

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a clinical laboratory environment. Duties may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a workbench, working on a computer, and repetitive hand motions. Physical requirements may include lifting up to 15 pounds, bending, reaching, and occasional stress related to turnaround time pressures. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

OSHA Category

This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.
