Description Assembles and organizes all instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for each specific surgical procedure. Assists in instrument handling and procedure techniques as requested by the surgeon. Maintains a sterile field and technique to assure good patient outcomes.
Graduate of a professional school earning surgical technology degree. Complete Certified Surgical Technology Exam within 1 year of hire. Current BLS certification required. Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others. Ability and willingness to work with patients’ growth and development needs particularly related to the age of patients in the unit/area(s) of assignment. Ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain clinical competency as required for the unit/area(s) of assignment. Ability to manage a chaotic work environment. Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards for performance improvement and organizational values (e.g., efficiency & financial responsibility, safety, partnership & service, teamwork, compassion, integrity, and trust & respect).
