Overview: Registered Vascular U/S Technologist

Position Highlights

  • Part-Time, 2-3 days/week; 8 hour or 10 hour shifts
  • Hours: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm;
  • Saturdays 8am-4:30pm
  • Location: Bloomingdale; Saturdays - Schaumburg
  • Travel: If needed for coverage

  • The Registered Vascular Technologist is an experienced ultrasound sonographer specializing in Vascular Ultrasound with the knowledge and skills fundamental to performing all non-invasive vascular procedures.
  • Patient and Appointment Preparation: Prepares examination rooms for patient visits, including cleaning, sterilizing, and stocking supplies. Escorts patients to exam room and obtains pertinent information for patient/exam documentation, billing and coding.
  • Non-Invasive Testing: Performs all non-invasive vascular testing in accordance with the Vascular Laboratory’s Policy and Procedure Manual, ICAVL standards, OSHA regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provides Preliminary Results: Utilizes appropriate MERGE application to document patient demographic information, including mandatory encounter details such as primary indication for testing, diagnosis (ICD-9 codes), CPT codes and referring provider. Develops a “preliminary impression” based on the data obtained and communicates any finding or pathology requiring immediate attention to the Vascular Surgeons.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborates with Lead Registered Vascular Technologist as needed in maintaining ICAVL accreditation as well as the periodic reaccreditation process.
  • Attend quarterly QA meetings. Participate in rotating schedule for correlation process.

Education and / Or certification/Licensure

  • Associate degree in ultrasound or certifications from an accredited ultrasound diagnostic school.
  • Current Registry by ARDMS for Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • Proficient in Arterial and Venous studies, as well as Carotids and some abdominal work

Experience

• At least 3 years experience in an accredited non-invasive vascular laboratory.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $35.25-52.90 with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.

Requirements

Requires an associate degree in ultrasound or certification from an accredited school and current ARDMS RVT registry. Must have at least 3 years of experience in an accredited non-invasive vascular laboratory.
