  • FUNCTIONS: The Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for clinic patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care (assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status). Clinical management is conducted in collaboration with other health care team members, and the scope of practice established by a protocol with a licensed medical doctor.

Duties and Responsibilities

Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for clinic patients Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs. Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role. Monitors the effectiveness of interventions. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals. Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools and patient engagement SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Not Applicable QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program Current Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) Licensure Current Nurse Practitioner certification in Family Medicine, preferred Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint WORKING CONDITIONS General office working conditions PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust to focus. Frequent travel is required, often up to several hours of driving per day. Ability to travel to, attend, and conduct sales presentations. Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals. Exposure to variable weather conditions is likely. Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of accredited nursing and Nurse Practitioner programs with current ARNP licensure. BLS and ACLS certifications are preferred, along with a certification in Family Medicine.
