About the role

Provide intense, time-limited therapy to children and their families through individual, family, parent, and sibling sessions. Perform case management and crisis intervention for children at risk of placement.

Summary of the Position

The Family Based Mental Health Therapist works in a co-therapy team to provide intense, time limited therapy to children and their families. The position holds individual, family, parent, and sibling therapy sessions as well as case management.

The children are at risk of placement or need an intensive treatment modality.

The position requires 2-3 evenings per week, and crisis intervention as needed.

Availability to work flexible hours up to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and experience in therapy, children services, or in a mental health setting.
  • Or Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, therapy, psychology, social work, sociology, or related field of study with two (2) years or full time equivalent paid experience is required.
  • Or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with at least 15 credit hours in counseling, therapy, psychology, social work, sociology, or related field of study with two (2) years of full time or full time equivalent paid experience may also be considered for candidates.
  • Training is provided by Youth Advocate Programs, Inc..
  • Employees must complete training that is relevant to the position as required. CPR/FA Certification, Advocacy, Autism, MANDT Training, and Pre-Employment Trainings are required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system is a plus.
  • Position requires reliable transportation, valid drivers license, current auto insurance coverage
  • Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) is a plus.
