About the role

Maintain facility cleanliness and safety through sanitization, laundry, and restocking tasks. Provide non-medical support to patients in early recovery and assist clinical staff with basic observations and intake.

About Recovery Works NW

Recovery Works NW is a family‑owned, community‑based organization providing innovative, judgment‑free, and compassionate care for people experiencing substance use and mental health‑related distress.

Position Summary

– Detox Technician This is a non‑medical, overnight role that combines housekeeping, facility support, and basic patient interaction in our detox program. You keep our small facility clean, stocked, and safe while offering practical support (snacks, shower items, gentle check‑ins) so nurses and providers can focus on clinical care.

What We Offer

Mission‑driven work supporting people at the very beginning of their recovery journey. On‑the‑job training in detox/residential treatment procedures and safety. A supportive team of nurses, providers, and techs who value good communication and reliability. Opportunities to learn about behavioral health and addiction treatment for those interested in growing in the field

What you’ll do Clean and sanitize bathrooms, showers, and common areas; sweep/mop floors; empty trash; manage laundry; restock supplies and snacks following nightly checklists. Assist patients with non‑medical needs: snacks, drinks, shower items, blankets, and general requests; offer a calm, respectful presence. Answer phones, complete basic screening/intake questions using clear guidelines, and route calls to the appropriate staff. Support clinical staff as requested (for example, 1:1 observation, checking on patients in bathrooms/showers, waiting for and directing Emergency Medical Services).

You’re a great fit if you

Have experience in housekeeping, janitorial, hotel, residential, shelter, or caregiving roles (healthcare setting preferred but not required). Are comfortable being around individuals in withdrawal/early recovery (training provided; this is not a hands‑on clinical role). Are reliable, stay awake and engaged through 12‑hour nights, and like working from clear checklists. Communicate calmly, hold boundaries respectfully, and know when to involve other team members.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks throughout a 12‑hour night shift CPR certification (or willingness to obtain; employer‑paid) Ability to pass applicable background checks

Schedule

  • Thursday
  • Nights 12 hour shifts (7 pm to 7:30 am) Option to pick up additional shifts!

Compensation: $23 ($21/hr base pay PLUS $2 night differential)
