Perform the surgical scrub role by preparing sterile instrumentation and supplies for procedures. Provide intra-operative support by anticipating surgeon needs and managing equipment decontamination post-procedure.
The Surgical Technician role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs the surgical scrub role and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include reviewing preference lists and picking the supplies and instruments for a procedure; performing a surgical scrub and preparing the back table with the appropriate sterile instrumentation and supplies; providing support intra-operatively by anticipating the surgeon's needs and passing him/her the appropriate instrumentation and supplies when needed during the case; completing the cycle by taking instruments and equipment to the decontamination area at the end of the procedure and putting away left over supplies and equipment.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Requires completion of surgical technician training from an accredited school and 3 years of experience in an operating room. Must hold National Certified Surgical Technologist and AHA BLS certifications upon hire.
