Responsibilities

INCLUDE:

Providing essential personal care assistance to tenants with physical disabilities in the absence of their PCA and in cases of unanticipated needs or emergencies.

Recordkeeping for all calls that are responded to.

Carrying out facility emergency procedures, as needed

Working conditions

  • Works in the VCA office area as well as throughout the facility and its premises.
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.

Education

• CNA or HHA preferred.

Experience

  • Experience with responsible care-giving skills in Human Services Field.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification required or must be obtained within first 6 months of employment.

Specific requirements

  • Ability to keep tenant information confidential at all times.
  • Team oriented with good communication skills.
  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult tenants.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and do heavy lifting without restrictions up to 51 pounds.
  • Must have working knowledge of hoist equipment.
