About the role

Provide comprehensive neurosurgical care for adult patients, focusing on cranial, spinal, and cerebrovascular conditions. Responsibilities include managing inpatient and perioperative care while collaborating with board-certified neurosurgeons.

Position Overview BayCare Medical Group is actively recruiting for a Neurosurgical Physician Assistant to join our team of four board-certified neurosurgeons, supported by five physician assistants.

This opportunity is based in Downtown Clearwater, Florida at Morton Plant Hospital—recognized as the premier destination for neurosurgical care in Pinellas County.

The team specializes in treating a full spectrum of cranial, spinal, and cerebrovascular conditions using the most advanced surgical techniques and individualized treatment plans.

This well-established practice offers a highly collaborative environment, strong mentorship, and the opportunity to be involved in comprehensive neurosurgical care.

Position Highlights: Night float schedule: Monday–Thursday (first week), Friday–Sunday (second week), followed by 7 days off (Averaging ~34 hours per week) One provider onsite at the hospital at all times Involvement in inpatient and perioperative patient care Adult-only, non-trauma patient population Participation in individualized treatment planning across a wide range of neurosurgical conditions

Qualifications

NCCPA Certification required Active Florida PA license required Prior neurosurgery experience and first assist experience strongly preferred Acute care, surgical, or critical care experience preferred Strong knowledge of brain and spine pathologies Company Overview

Requirements

Requires NCCPA certification and an active Florida PA license. Prior experience in neurosurgery, first assisting, and acute or critical care is strongly preferred.
