Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to: Director or Manager of Emergency Department
What you will do
Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and other medical care activities
Documents patient care provided.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient and family.
Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition and ambulation.
collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition and circumstances.
Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requires a current North Carolina RN license, an Associate Degree in Nursing, and BLS certification. Candidates must have one year of RN experience and obtain ACLS and PALS certifications within 90 days of hire.
