The Home-Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI) Interventionist provides intensive, short-term, in-home crisis services to children and adolescents ages 5–21 who have an IDD diagnosis and are experiencing acute psychiatric crises that place them at risk for psychiatric hospitalization. Under the supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor, the Interventionist works collaboratively with families to stabilize the crisis, assess needs, and build coping strategies to prevent future hospitalizations.
The Interventionist provides direct support services, assists with treatment planning, and implements behavioral strategies and interventions to promote emotional regulation, problem-solving, and safety within the family environment. The Interventionist also coordinates care with schools, community providers, and other support systems to ensure continuity of care. Services are typically delivered multiple times per week, with flexible scheduling (including evenings and weekends) to meet family needs.
