Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness. Obtain and prepare for analysis blood specimens, urine speciments, stool specimens, and culture specimens. Perform venipuncture. Perform procedures; Urethral swabs, glucometer, dextrostix, guaiac stool and radial puncture. Assists with treatment of patients with: Common diseases/communicable diseases, minor injuries, contract poisons, bites or stings, serious acute illness, and minor burns. Assists with IV therapy, administers IV fluids, maintains IV fluids rate and administers blood products. Performs CPR. Controls bleeding. Assists in intubations and monitor of ET tube. Maintains and operates pulse oximeter, Dynamap, infusion pumps, blood warmer, EKG machine, defibrillator, monitor.
Degree/Education: Registered Nurse shall have an Associate’s degree, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, or graduate level degree from a program that provides a diploma or degree in nursing from a National League of Nursing (NLN) /American Education Service (AES) accredited school.
Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or as otherwise identified in the TO.
Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience with in the last three (3) years working in an Emergency room. Must possess knowledge of trauma process, triage and a variety of emergent and semi-emergent techniques.
Possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) , Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications. Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP through) an American Red Cross approved training program.
