Description . AMC is a specialty medical clinic focused on the treatment of substance use disorders and related medical conditions. We provide comprehensive, low-barrier, evidence-based medical care including medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), long-acting injectable therapies, hepatitis C treatment, obesity medicine, and coordinated behavioral health support. We are seeking either a Certified Medical Assistant or a motivated Pre-Certified Medical Assistant eligible for on-the-job training (OJT) to join our collaborative medical team.
Required – Current Certification from ONE of the following or ability to receive certification within 6 months of hire: · American Medical Technologists (AMT) · National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) · American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) · National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) · National Health career Association (NHA – CCMA) · OR licensure as Oregon EMT (Intermediate or Paramedic)
· AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification · Basic knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding conventions · Working knowledge of medical documentation standards · Familiarity with practice management systems · Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
· AAMA certification · Two (2) years of medical assisting experience --- Pre-Certified Medical Assistant (OJT Pathway)
· Prior healthcare exposure (clinical, administrative, or college-level coursework in a health-related field) · Basic medical terminology knowledge · Demonstrated ability to work in a healthcare environment · Willingness to complete certification requirements within designated timeframe
