About the role

The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting, transporting, and processing laboratory specimens via venipuncture and capillary punctures. They must accurately label specimens, manage receipts using computer systems, and maintain a safe work environment.

Position Summary

The Phlebotomists/Processor collects, transports, and processes laboratory specimens.

Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures according to departmental procedures. Accurately label and prepare specimens for testing or transport. Complete requisitions and manage specimen receipt using computer systems. Deliver specimens to testing areas. Maintain equipment and assist with problem-solving related to patient draws and orders. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and departmental policies. Conduct inventory checks, train new employees, and maintain a safe work environment. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Graduate or equivalent. Some experience or training in phlebotomy or laboratory science is preferred. Safety & Physical Demands: Ability to walk 5-7 miles daily and stand for entire shift. Exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals. Adherence to safety, ergonomic, and health policies. Compliance with PPE requirements in lab or biohazard areas. Completion of required safety training and health evaluations promptly. Proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety hazards, promoting safety awareness. CompuNet offers a full benefits package including Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage. Requirements

Candidates must be a high school graduate or equivalent, with preferred experience or training in phlebotomy or laboratory science. The role requires the physical ability to stand for entire shifts and walk 5-7 miles daily.
