  • Summary: The STEPS Family Advocate will provide crisis intervention and help stabilize the crisis, which will prevent the removal of child(ren) from the home. This position will conduct face-to-face contact with the family each week and will do follow-up after the services are in place with the family. This position is a direct service personnel.

  • Duties: Conducts interviews with the families to identify strengths, needs, and general household information. Links at-risk families with services and assists in obtaining referrals. Conducts in-home services; parenting, behavior modification, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, transportation, money management, life skills, case management, and education on community resources. Provides regular contact with families by performing home visits. Documents all case activity, demographic information, and contact with client. Maintains a case file on each family with required documents and submits case files to supervisor for review within required timeframe. Ensures progress is made in service provision and closes cases in a timely manner.

  • Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a human services or related field required.

Experience

  • One year of experience with at-risk children and families preferred.
  • Licensure,
  • Certification, and/or
  • Registration: Valid drivers license. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

A bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is required, with one year of experience with at-risk families preferred. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and pass multiple background screenings, including a Level II background check.
