Performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures and fluoroscopy studies while assisting physicians and explaining procedures to patients and staff. Manages department operations including paperwork processing and patient transportation within various health system areas.

  • Internal candidates must apply by midnight on the Closing Date in order to have bidding rights. Performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures and studies with a thorough understanding of standard radiography and fluoroscopy. Must be able to use knowledge and ability to assist physicians, interpret orders and explain procedures to RNs, patients and families. Secondary responsibilities include a thorough understanding of department operations in order to assist non-technical staff in processing paperwork, films and expediting patient transportation. Primary work areas include Diagnostic Radiology for the Health System including, but not limited to: Skilled Nursing, Operating Rooms, Trauma/ER, etc. Able to utilize a filmless based environment. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health. Job Requirements Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure Preferred Education: Associate's Degree Minimum Experience: 0 - 6 months related Preferred Experience: 1 - 2 years related Required Certification: Certified Radiologic Technologist CRT(R) American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider Preferred Certification: Not Applicable Required License: Certi Radiology Tech CRT(F) Preferred License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(R)

Requirements

Requires CRT(R) and BLS certifications along with a Radiology Tech license. An associate's degree is preferred, and candidates should have basic computer proficiency and 0-6 months of related experience.
