About the role

The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates patients to develop and implement effective treatment plans. They are responsible for measuring patient progress, modifying plans, and educating patients to ensure optimal outcomes.

The Speech Language Pathologist examines and evaluates patients, developing effective treatment plans appropriate for the patient condition. The Speech Language Pathologist measures patient progress, modifies treatment plans and educates the patient to produce optimal outcomes. #ACDP

  • Skills: 1. Knowledge of Speech Language Pathology theory, procedures, practices and equipment 2. Good communication skills. Proactive, positive approach to problem solving 3. Thorough knowledge of possible hazards/necessary precautions/remedial actions in the care of patients 4. Ability to assess for an implement treatment programs for simple and complex therapy diagnoses. 5. Computer skills in Microsoft

  • Licensure/Certifications: Current Florida license as Speech-Language Pathologist BLS from the American Heart Association Effective March 1, 2018 Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA is required at hire or transfer into role.

  • Experience: Experience in Video Swallow Studies, Speaking Valve, Voice Prosthesis and FEES preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree, a current Florida SLP license, BLS certification, and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence. Less than one year of clinical experience is required, though experience in specialized studies is preferred.
