About the role

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for solving technical problems across various laboratory areas and ensuring test performance accuracy. They must identify issues affecting results and take corrective actions or notify supervisors.

Hourly Pay Range

$30.46 - $45.69 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Monday-Friday, 2pm-10:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do

Able to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various Laboratory areas

Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action or notifying appropriate supervisory personnel.

Good communication and organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.

What you will need

Education: Associate's degree and the requisite courses to meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.

Certification: MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent and ongoing active certification is strongly preferred.

Experience:

MT/MLS: Experience preferred.

Internal

MLT

Candidate: Two (2) years of experience at NorthShore performing moderate to high complexity testing beyond POC/Waived testing with an achieved competency level of a Laboratory Associate.

External

MLT

Candidate: Four (4) years of experience in a comparable healthcare setting of moderate to high complexity testing beyond POC/Waived testing with an achieved competency level of a Laboratory Associate.
