Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour.

Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

This is an Hourly position.

Overview

Position Summary

The Phlebotomist I obtains blood and other specimens according to established policies and procedures from any location where patients may be present for laboratory testing. In doing so, obtains needed supplies, verifies patient identification, prepares skin sites, and performs venipuncture and skin punctures according to established aseptic techniques. Labels specimens and transports same to laboratory for analysis. This position works independently and as a part of a team, performs clerical and/or computer duties associated with the laboratory, and provides timely specimen collection and routing of laboratory specimens. Maintains professional relationships with patients, staff, and physicians. Duties may vary by assigned area and/or shift.

Qualifications

Required qualifications: CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Experience 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients Additional Requirements Must be flexible to accommodate both designated start times, with occasional schedule adjustments to support outpatient responsibilities. Valid driver's license required. Position requires operating an OSF vehicle to travel to client locations within the community to perform blood collections. Ability to work independently at community collection sites and collaboratively within the inpatient setting. Must be able to safely operate a vehicle in all weather conditions. Requirements

Required qualifications include CNA certification and AHA HealthCare Provider BLS certification. A high school diploma and 6 months of clinical healthcare experience are preferred, along with a valid driver's license for travel to client locations.
