About the role

The Licensed Vocational Nurse assesses, plans, and implements nursing care for residents in a skilled nursing setting. They are responsible for ensuring continuity of care between shifts and supervising CNAs and supportive staff.

Responsibilities

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) assesses, plans, and implements the nursing care of residents within the skilled nursing setting. Responsible for ensuring continuity of care of the residents between shifts by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by CNAs and supportive staff members. Participates in resident and family teaching. Maintains role as resident advocate with a focus on the facility's mission.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing School program OR become licensed by equivalency required 6 months of experience in a long term care facility preferred BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required LVN - Current State of California Licensed Vocational Nurse License required Disclaimers
