JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 WORK SHIFT: Sunday - Thursday: 11:00p - 7:00a JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the safe manipulation of radiographic and computerized tomographical radiological equipment, positioning patients, selection of the technical factors necessary to produce optimum quality radiographic and CT images.

Responsible for the tracking of each study and the PACS acquisition of the study performed, properly uses radiation protection devices, cares for patients while performing Radiologic/CT exams, provides procedural care and education for patients, and maintains records and documentation for procedures and the maintenance of the equipment and certifications.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a graduate of an accredited radiology technology program. One year experience in a CT department with multi-slice technology preferred. A.R.R.T. registered in Radiology, state licensed in radiology by the LSRT. CT registry preferred. Current BLS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages. Must possess strong guest relations skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise. Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) – lifting, hearing, seeing Frequently (34%-66%) - carrying, pushing/pulling, handling/feeling, talking Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching EMPLOYMENT Each St. Tammany Health System staff member is expected to conduct himself or herself according to our mission, vision and values.
