Practice for this role

About the role

The Registered Nurse serves as a primary or circulating nurse for gastrointestinal, cardiology, and other minor procedures. Responsibilities include assessing and preparing patients, monitoring safety during procedures, and coordinating recovery and discharge.

Your job is more than a job.

No one makes it happen like you.

As a Special Procedures Unit Registered Nurse, you play a vital role in providing safe, compassionate care before, during, and after a variety of procedures.

You’ll serve as the primary or circulating nurse for gastrointestinal (GI), cardiology, and other minor procedures, partnering closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

In this fast-paced environment, you’ll assess and prepare patients, provide education and emotional support, monitor patient safety throughout procedures, and coordinate care through recovery and discharge.

Your specialized knowledge and critical thinking skills help ensure each patient receives high-quality, individualized care.

Our Special Procedures Unit offers a Monday through Friday schedule, with participation in an on-call rotation.

Whether assisting with endoscopic procedures, cardiac procedures, or other minimally invasive interventions, you’ll manage multiple priorities while responding confidently and compassionately to the unexpected.

If you thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy procedural nursing, and are passionate about delivering outstanding patient care, we’d love to have you join our team.

Market context

Louisiana nursing roles stay in steady demand

In Louisiana, nursing roles typically see steady demand across hospitals, clinics, and community care settings, especially for RNs with current licensure and recent clinical experience. These roles can be competitive because employers often look for candidates who can start quickly, meet certification and driving requirements, and handle patient care with limited onboarding. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits here to save research time, and confirm your RN license, CPR certification, and driver’s license are current before applying.
