As a Respiratory Therapist, you will help patients breathe more easily and live more comfortably by diagnosing, monitoring, and treating lung and breathing conditions. You will collaborate with a clinical team and ensure effective treatment through evaluation and documentation.

You'll collaborate with a highly skilled clinical team to help diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions that affect the lungs and breathing in people of all ages.

Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs, and makes appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines.

Assesses effectiveness of treatment and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.

Performs point of care testing as required.

Performs advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures (interventions) for patients requiring respiratory assistance.

Assesses effectiveness of intervention and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.

Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe.

Maintains competency in areas of accountability.

Accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation and billing.

Facilitates a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services / the next point of service / home and provides education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues.

Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.

Qualifications

Required Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy Preferred Bachelor's Degree Respiratory Therapy 2 years of relevant experience pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine or equivalent clinical education Required LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association Regional Hospitals and NICU 90 Days required CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab 90 Days required CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required Ideal candidate will be a Registered Respiratory Therapist or RRT RT Students, CRTs, and/or RRTs may apply

Requirements

An Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is required, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred. Candidates must have relevant experience and hold necessary certifications such as a State Respiratory Therapist license and National Board for Respiratory Care registration.
