The Clinical Results Liaison ensures safe patient care by collecting and analyzing diagnostic and laboratory results for patients discharged from the Emergency Department. They collaborate with providers to obtain necessary orders and follow up with patients and pharmacies to ensure continuity of care.

The Clinical Results Liaison serves as a resource representing Health First and Emergency Services in ensuring and providing quality and safe care of patients discharged from the Emergency Department (ED). The Clinical Results Liaison partners with ED providers in the collection and analysis of diagnostic imaging, laboratory results, and other patient findings and facilitates order collection and delivery to customers.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES Collects all laboratory and radiology results from the Emergency Departments across the IDN on a daily basis.
Reviews and assesses all results received.
Consults with the delegated Emergency Department Provider and reviews all abnormal patient results.
Obtains orders from Emergency Department Provider.
Follows up with patients to review results and orders.
Follows through with orders to include pharmacy contact, if indicated.
Functions as a back up for the HRMC ED Charge Nurse to receive calls from pharmacies, discharged patients with questions, etc.
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited professional nursing program Licensure: Current State of Florida RN licensure or endorsement Work Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in Emergency Department related work Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language Excellent interpersonal skills to work with patients/customers of varied levels of understanding Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to foster and develop a collaborative team environment Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including CMS and The Joint Commission
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Sedentary Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping Long periods of computer time or at workstation Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance. May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks Workspace may vary from open to confined. May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle
