About the role

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs imaging and non-imaging procedures using radioactive tracers and is responsible for the safe handling of radioactive materials. They also provide patient care and ensure the proper operation of radiation detection equipment.

Casual Position-Days-Weekends Scope of work The NMT performs both imaging and non-imaging procedures on patients and/or patient samples using radioactive tracers. The NMT is responsible for the safe and correct handling of radioactive materials, the care and operation of radiation detection equipment, knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures, the appropriate computer analysis to generate a patient result, and patient care. A NMT uses specific age and culture-related physical, intellectual psychosocial and developmental attributes in assessment planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Follows Corewell Health philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.

Qualifications

Required associate’s degree Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program CRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist - NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board required 6 months from date of hire. CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required

Requirements

Candidates must have an associate's degree and be a graduate of a JRCERT accredited Radiography program. Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from NMTCB and Basic Life Support certification from AHA are required upon hire.
