About the role

The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs and develop synergistic nurse-patient relationships. They are responsible for establishing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive plans of care for NICU patients.

JOB SUMMARY Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of a school of nursing. BSN or MSN preferred.

Experience

One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program. Two (2) or more years experience in this specific clinical area preferred. License and Certification Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire. Ability to obtain and maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 60 days of hire. Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications. Registered Nurse Core Certification (RNC - NIC or CCRN) preferred. We take great care of careers. Candidates must be a graduate of a nursing school with a current unrestricted Connecticut RN license and BLS certification. One year of RN experience is required, while a BSN/MSN and two or more years of clinical experience are preferred.
