About the role

Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy while conducting mental status evaluations and biopsychosocial formulations. Perform emergency crisis interventions and collaborate with community agencies to ensure a continuum of care for patients.

Position Summary

The Department of Psychiatry Behavioral Medicine seeks a Licensed Clinical Social Work Practitioner with experience to work in its Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following; provide individual, family, marital and group psychotherapy, evaluation and assessment of patients' mental status, behavioral and social circumstances, family dynamics and resources, biopsychosocial formulation and DSM diagnosis; emergency treatment, early appointment or routine appointment; perform emergency and crisis intervention for immediate emergency or walk-in patients. Make referrals to other treatment programs when clinically appropriate. This position also has the ability to participate in the teaching and clinical supervision of medical students, psychiatry residents, and other health professional trainees.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate skill in social work intervention. Establish therapeutic relationship. Provide continuum of care through community collaboration. Work with patients and families to understand and access community services/resources. Assess psychosocial functioning. Minimum Requirements American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Non-violent crisis intervention training may be required. If not current at time of hire, must complete within first 30 days of employment and maintained without lapse during employment. Master's Degree or higher. Three to four years related experience Licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board. Requirements

Requires a Master's degree or higher and a valid LCSW license from the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board. Candidates must have three to four years of related experience and BLS certification.
