About the role

Perform clinical support services including health screenings and phlebotomy while assisting medical providers with patient care. Manage administrative tasks such as medical record documentation, patient scheduling, and office supply procurement.

Position Summary

Perform clinical support services, assist with secretarial/clerical duties and maintain patient care documentation in medical records.

Responsibilities

Maintains all patient care related documentation in patients' medical records in a timely manner. Verifies consistency and accuracy of clinical information entered into patient charts. Prepares charts, maintains and updates forms and prepares documentation paperwork. Maintains and monitors medical record documentation and filing. Correctly files all patient documentation verifying accuracy and completion of content. Responsible for various secretarial, clerical and receptionist activities. Answer phones, greet patients, and screen calls. Schedule patient appointments. Assist with charge entry on a timely basis. Purchase and distribute office and medical supplies. Perform clinical support services within protocol and upon completion of proper training and competency evaluation. Assist medical providers with patient care services as requested. Perform health screenings (vision, blood pressure, weight and vitals), collect blood collection and/or phlebotomy blood collection for lab tests. Collect health risk appraisals and/or patient histories. Minimum Requirements American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification HS graduate or equivalent required.

One to two years of formal medical assistant/nurse aide training or six months current full time experience in a clinical setting as a Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or CNA preferred.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and current AHA BLS certification. Preference is given to candidates with formal medical assistant training or clinical experience as a CMA or CNA.
