About the role

The MLT is responsible for preparing patient specimens and performing laboratory tests while monitoring results for quality and validity. They must communicate critical results promptly and maintain a clean, documented laboratory environment.

Position Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) prepares patient specimens as required for laboratory testing. As an MLT, you will: Perform laboratory tests and monitor test results to assure test quality and validity. Communicate results in a timely manner, especially those that may be life threatening to the patient. Maintain properly documented records of activities. Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements High School plus 2 years or more of formal training/education or higher (Specify: AAS Degree, Medical Laboratory Technician) Less than 1 year of experience is required Preferred: ASCP or equivalent certification Other Information 40 hours per week Monday - Friday (7:30 am - 5:30 pm) Rotational day offer per week Great Benefits #LI-SB1 ECU Health About ECU Health Physicians ECU Health Physicians is multi-specialty group with over 600 providers in more than 140 primary and specialty clinics across more than 110 locations in eastern North Carolina. Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least two years of formal training, specifically an AAS degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician. ASCP or equivalent certification is preferred, and less than one year of experience is required.
