The position provides the opportunity to gain exposure and experience working (with/in) a medical records department in an article 28 clinical setting. The students can expect to do work such as working with patient’s information; assisting with medical records archiving project. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to advance their knowledge and experience with medical information and technology along with HIPAA and compliance laws.
Training and supervision are provided by the Practice Administrator and\or designated departmental staff. Interns will receive guidance and support from all Medical Records personnel as well as the Practice Administrator.
A schedule will be worked out between the student and position supervisor, however day/hours worked will need to be between
Monday and
Friday and between 8:30am and 5:00pm.
This is an unpaid internship opportunity that is only open to current students. The internship may be able to satisfy course credit if approved by the student's institution of learning.
