About the role

The Psychiatric Technician is responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient vitals, and documenting resident behavior. They also ensure a safe therapeutic environment and assist in training new staff members.

We are seeking a Psychiatric Technician to join our team in our Bethlehem, PA location.

Position Details

The Psychiatric Technician will

  • administer medication and therapeutic treatments, monitor for potential side effects and report
  • provide care in a manner that considers the patient’s rights, safety, comfort and the overall therapeutic environment
  • observe, document and report resident behavior
  • monitor and document weights, blood pressure, pulse and respiration per MD orders and monthly for all residents
  • communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a timely manner that affects patient care or well-being
  • fill in resident charts
  • assist in orientation and training of new staff members, understand, and implement Merakey policies and procedures
  • order refills of medications,
  • act as lead staff when the Administrator or Asst. Administrator is not available.
  • complete all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Earn $18.50 an hour with the selection of enhanced pay.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications

  • Mental Health experience is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
  • Must be able to work 11p-7a full-time with weekends and holidays

Requirements

Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license. Experience in mental health is preferred, and the ability to work the 11pm-7am shift including weekends and holidays is required.
