The Admissions RN is responsible for processing inquiry and referral calls, coordinating all admissions processes, and serving as a liaison to various stakeholders involved in each admission. This includes verifying insurance, triaging patients, completing assessments, and ensuring effective communication with unit staff.

Responsible for coordination of all admissions processes and serves as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. Verify insurance, triage patients, complete assessments, ability to staff clinical effectively, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete all admission paperwork with patient. Effectively communicate with unit staff and assist patient to unit. Pre-cert with payor source. Follow hospital’s policies and procedures regarding admissions. Position Hours: Varied 7am to 7pm, 7pm to 7am, or 4-hour evening shifts
Graduate from an accredited RN program; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.
Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.

Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation, and CPR prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
